There was, and will always be, and afterglow from that very special place and time on The Land, Struggle and Black Mountain. Nothing can every take away the "Camelot" that was there for a brief, shining, moment. So glad that Struggle Mt. still carries the love.
Oh, sure none of us, and nothing is/was perfect. At the end, up on Lone Oak Hill, the dots connected in the invisible that runs between and through us all. Since I expressed that while we stood in the circle, again, I won't repeat it here. I, too, returned home with a rekindled flame. And, although I arrived in the rainstorm, too late to see Brendan & J.B., there was a birth announcement in the mail. Web Wheatley, welcome! What a strong look for 6 months!
Yes, what Maria said. We are still here, still leaving a legacy, and even though we are challenged by darkness, still carry the light. It's not over. Saving the Planet, and Humankind from our own worse tendencies, is still within reach. It was wonderful to reconnect with so many, and even those who we only spent a moment or two saying hello and sharing a hug.
Thanks to Patsy and our wonderful organizing committee, the Kerr Kids (who I lived with when I first moved to California and rented a room from their Mom in Woodside) for the work of their crew and wonderful Alice's Restaurant food.
From the sign that greeted me when I drove down from SF and in from Hwy 1, to the perfect cabin I occupied as your resident crustacean/DJ - Tide Pool, I was instantly at home.
Happy Trails! Adios. Paul "Lobster" Wells
Such a strange transition from a rural, calm weekend back to the real world of teaching. The camaraderie, music, rainstorm choir, dancing, communal meals, laughter and stories old and new made for a lovely reunion.
It was delightful to hear how your lives have prospered and your souls have continued to evolve. Everyone's children and grandchildren are so beautiful. The whole event made me feel like I was walking on air. I returned home with more patience and compassion. I'm sure this was because of remembrances of all we experienced together.
All the idealism, and attempts to influence our society to focus on peace and equal human rights transformed us for the better. Even if we may feel that we didn't succeed completely, this reunion reminds us that we have made a positive change in many lives and that the new generation aspires to achieve these ideals. It's a marvelous legacy.
Thanks to all of you who worked so hard to put this even together and brought out the best in all of us by doing so.
Love,
Maria
To my beautiful comrades from the Land – I love you, your joy and spirit, I miss you all, and I look forward to our next meeting. This song by Van Morrison really says it all and we must sing it next time.
Have I told you lately that I love you
Have I told you there's no one else above you
Fill my heart with gladness
Take away all my sadness
Ease my troubles that's what you do
(You-you-you-you-you-you-you-you)
For the morning sun in all its glory
greets the day with hope and comfort too
You fill my life with laughter
and somehow you make it better
ease my troubles that's what you do
There's a love that's divine
and it's yours and it's mine like the sun
And at the end of the day
we should give thanks and pray
to the one, to the one
Have I told you lately that I love you
Have I told you there's no one else above you
Fill my heart with gladness
take away all my sadness
ease my troubles that's what you do
Love to all, Rio
Thank you everyone!! Even with my jet lag, the excitement of being there and reuniting with you all, sharing cherished memories
from a time I feel so lucky to have experienced, was a new highlight in my life. I was truly in a state of bliss!
Building my 'cottage' shaped my entire life and gave me the courage and conviction to be able to do anything I set my mind to.
Walking back to see where it once stood was like coming home. I'd have moved back in if it were still there!
Thank you Fran for guiding me back there! I love you all!! Rose

- Comments:
- All would appreciate I’m quite sure. Take your time, Neal.
- We want it badly, but in no big hurry.
- Love you and what you do.

- So Neil.. The slide show is fantastic.. Strings things together in a way that is so potent. How do we get it, what do we do? What do you need?
- Clair
- YES, yes thanks to all.
- I'm wondering if there's a way we can pitch in and, for those that want one, get a disk of Neil's slide show! It was/is just so damn powerful and wonderful and special and ....historic!
Whatcha think?
Bob
- Kudos to the planning committee!
- Sandy
- Great work, fabulous event. I enjoyed every minute, even the rainy ones.
